Passover 2019

This year, Passover begins at sundown on Friday, April 19

The primary ritual of Passover, the Passover seder, is a home ritual. It is a wonderful time for us to connect with family and friends over a shared meal at our table as we recline and recount the story of the Exodus from Eygpt and sing songs together in celebration of freedom.

COUNTING THE OMER with Rabbi Elana Rosen-Brown and Sylvia Boorstein Consecutive Tuesdays, April 9 through May 28, 9:00 am in the sanctuary

The Counting of the Omer is a period of seven weeks between Passover and Shavuot during which time we symbolically learn for the first time what it means to be free with all of its requisite joys and struggles. Using a variety of contemplative approaches this course will help us look deeply into our own lives. The course will incorporate mindfulness meditation, prayer, chant, and text study as we explore the ways the sacred wisdom of the journey from the Exodus at Passover to the receiving of the Torah on Shavuot can help us awaken to our daily lives.
