Tashlich ("cast away") is an outdoor ritual performed at the end of Rosh Hashanah. Participating in tashlich allows us to leave behind the missteps, and regrets of the past year, as we gather at flowing water (i.e. a river, lake, ocean, or creek) and symbolically release our bad habits, misdeeds, and regrets into the water (in our case, we throw millet or cracked corn). The ritual comes at a time when we are in the midst of the work of teshuvah--moral self-examination or reflection--as we move from the preparatory month of Elul into the High Holy Days.
Gather in community with us for this beautiful, engaging ritual! All ages are welcome.
