Makor Marin is your source for discovering spirituality in the great outdoors and connecting to a nontraditional, inclusive Jewish community.
We’re about creating community outside the walls of a building; whether it be in the redwoods, overlooking the Bay, hiking, camping, or volunteering with trail maintenance. Together we explore our natural world through the teachings of Jewish wisdom, mindfulness and outdoor adventure. Makor Marin offers a variety of programs for families and individuals of all ages which includes family hikes, holiday celebrations, classes in Jewish meditation and spirituality, camping trips, and retreats. Makor means source in Hebrew.
In our second season of Makor, in addition to working to create vibrant outdoor experiences, we are also incorporating a Jewish nature-learning curriculum for ages 0-7 that will build from event to event. Our hope is whether you come for one event or join us for our monthly gatherings that your children's connection to earth-based Jewish learning will continue to grow and expand as will their friendships and connections with community. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
All are welcome to Makor Marin's events, whether a member of Rodef Sholom or not - we want to meet you where you are! Events are listed on our calendar. We also have a separate Makor Marin website where you can add yourself to the email list.
