One out of every five people deals with mental health issues at some point in their lifetime. In observance of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, we're proud to present the work of congregant Shayna Dollinger, a senior at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay. At her school, seniors complete a year-long independent project called Keystone; Shayna chose to do two storytelling podcasts centered on mental health. She also enrolled in REAL's four-part storytelling workshop to help her learn how to help people living with illness and addiction tell their stories in non-stigmatizing ways.
Take a moment to listen to the stories in these podcasts—everyday struggles that your colleague, friend or close relative may be working through, unbeknownst to you.
