Tuesday, May 14, 2024 6 Iyar 5784

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMRodef Sholom Sanctuary + Virtual

Ten years ago, Rabbi Stacy gave a Kol Nidre Sermon in which she shared that Robin Williams’ death by suicide gave her the bravery to share openly that her step-father, too, had taken his own life. This was also the sermon that launched the REAL Mental Health Initiative program in our community.

In celebration of a decade REAL, and in honor of Mental Health Awareness month, we are thrilled to welcome Zak Williams, Robin’s son and mental health advocate, to speak to our community.

Zak Williams is a passionate global mental health advocate, entrepreneur, father, professional speaker, and son of beloved actor and comedian, Robin Williams. He focuses his time, expertise, and resources on sharing his personal journey from pain to purpose in order to support initiatives and campaigns seeking to remove the stigma of discussions aligned with mental health challenges, addressing any discrimination associated and creating access to quality care for all in need.

I'm feeling most passionate about supporting the mental health of our youth at the moment. The data is critically clear that - if we don't do something impactful at scale - our nation's kids are going to experience unprecedented issues through adolescence and leading into adulthood. This is why I've become such an advocate for foundational prevention education for young people.
